Skip or bypass Rapidshare, Megaupload Waiting time

Yes, you read it correct, now you can easily avoid the waiting time whenever you download as a free user from the file sharing services such as rapidshare, megaupload, deposifiles, hotfile,filesonic . Normally you have to wait for 20-60 minutes to download the second file after downloading the first one. This is a way to invite users to purchase a premium service. But this way of limiting Free download limit and asking free users to wait for long time to start another download is annoying one.
Bypass Download Limit in rapidshare, hotfile, megaupload
Skipscreen is an extension to your browser which can be used to by pass waiting time on download on sites listed below. Unfortunately, it can only be used only with Firefox browsers to avoid waiting time:

* Rapidshare.com
* zShare.net

* Sharebee.com
* Depositfiles.com
* Sendspace.com
* Divshare.com
* Linkbucks.com

2. Select FREE button
3. In the address bar put the following: javascript:alert(c=0)
4. Click OK
5. Click OK to the pop-up box
6. Enter the captcha
7. Download Your File

Method 2: Request a new IP address from your ISP server

Here’s how to do it in windows:
1. Click Start
2. Click run
3. In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4. When the command prompt opens type the following.
ENTER after each new line.
ipconfig /flushdns

Change XP Start Button Name

First Step The first step is to make a backup copy of the file explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer. Place it in a folder somewhere on your hard drive where it will be safe. Start Resource Hacker and open explorer.exe located at C:\Windows\explorer.exe
The category we are going to be using is String Table In Resource Hacker. Expand it by clicking the plus sign then navigate down to and expand string 37 followed by highlighting 1033. If you are using the Classic Layout rather than the XP Layout, use number 38. The right hand pane will display the stringtable . We’re going to modify item 578, currently showing the word “start” just as it displays on the current Start button.

There is no magic here. Just double click on the word “start” so that it’s highlighted, making sure the quotation marks are not part of the highlight. They need to remain in place, surrounding the new text that you’ll type. Go ahead and type your new entry

Second Step – Modify the Registry Now that the modified explorer.exe has been created it’s necessary to modify the registry so the file will be recognized when the user logs on to the system. If you don’t know how to access the registry I’m not sure this article is for you, but just in case it’s a temporary memory lapse, go to Start (soon to be something else) Run and type regedit in the Open: field.

Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In the Right pane , double click the Shell entry to open the Edit String dialog box. In Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer.exe file. Click OK.

Close Registry Editor and either log off the system and log back in, or reboot the entire system if that’s your preference. If all went as planned you should see your new Start button with the revised text.

Make your firefox faster

This Firefox tricks will improve the speed & load time of firefox. And you will be able to surf faster.

Type about:config in the address bar, Then look for the following entries, and make the corresponding changes.
network.http.max-connections-per-server =32
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy =16
network.http.max-connections = 64
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server = 10
network.http.pipelining = true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 200
network.http.request.max-start-delay = 0
network.http.proxy.pipelining = true
network.http.proxy.version = 1.0

Lastly right-click anywhere and select New- Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to 0. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. Enjoy!!

Speed up your internet by 20% on windows

Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like Windows Updates and interrogating your PC etc

You can get it back:

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. This opens the group policy editor.
Then go to:
--> Local Computer Policy
--> Computer Configuration
--> Administrative Templates
--> Network
--> QOS Packet Scheduler
--> Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth.
It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e." By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.

Ra One game for windows/how to run PS2 games on Windows

In July, Red Chillies Entertainment declared a tie-up with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) to build a full cycle game of the film on PlayStation. Released on October 5 at an event in Mumbai, "Ra.One - The Game" offers more than 20 game environments, features original voice-overs from the actors and is available on PS2 and PS3; the former being available for the Indian market and the latter for the international market. The project boasts of a series of firsts: a first full cycle BluRay PS3 game developed with an Indian developer; first console game to be dubbed by a leading Bollywood actor and also the first Bollywood title to appear as a full cycle PlayStation game. On October 14, a gaming tournament titled "The Ra.One Nvidia GeForce lan" was held in Mumbai. The event, which hosted over 1000 gamers competing against each other, featured several popular games such as "FIFA", "Counter-Strike" and "Call of Duty", and was telecast live on YouTube, showcasing digital innovation by means of live interactive contests, puzzles etc.

In addition to launching the video game, Red Chillies also collaborated with UTV Indiagames to design a social game based on the film named the Ra.One Genesis. The game reached the No. 1 position on the iTunes store within 24 hours of its launch, becoming the first ever Bollywood movie app to be top-featured on iPhone and iPad. An investment of around 4.5 crore (US$1 million), the storyline of the game is not borrowed from or similar to that of the movie though it is based on the character of G.One. The game was launched across platforms like mobiles, tablet PCs, the direct-to-home platform and social networking sites like Facebook. According to the company's digital and new media head Shailja Gupta, the idea behind the digital marketing is to create a franchisee for Ra.One. She explained, "Social gaming is just one part of the digit marketing strategy. The unique part of the social game is the integration of merchandise and gaming."

To play this game on windows follow these steps.

First download the game from this link.

Step 1 – Download and install ePSXe

The latest version can always be found here.

As there’s no installer, you just have to unzip it in the folder of your choice. You’ll also want some shortcuts, so right-click on the “˜ePSXe.exe’, “˜send to’ and choose “˜desktop’.

Step 2 – Getting the PSX’s BIOS

The installation is far from complete though, as this is only the base of the emulator. Among the other things we’re going to need are the PSX’s BIOS files. These are essential for the emulation, but there is a catch.

You can obtain the BIOS in two ways. You can dump it from your PSX, but that is the long route. You can also download it here, but again, only if you actually own a PSX.

We’ll extract these files in the \bios directory (you can also delete the “˜erase.me’ file)

Step 3 – Getting image

Again, we are not ready yet. Next we need the video plug-in.

There’s a wide variety of video plug-ins available, and (depending on your graphics card) some might work better for you than others, so I can’t tell you which one to use. I can point you in the right direction though, as Pete’s and P.E.Op.S. plug-ins have made a good name for themselves. If these do not work (well), try out a few and see which works best (all Linux plug-ins are at the bottom of the page).

We’re going to extract the downloaded package(s) into the \plugins directory. You might need to overwrite the “˜gpu.dat’ file.

Step 4 – Make some noise (optional)

The ePSXe core has built in sound plug-ins, but in case they didn’t work for you, check here for alternatives (scroll down a bit). You can put these plug-ins in the \plugins directory.

Step 5 – Disk driver plug-ins (optional)

The ePSXe core also has built in plug-ins for your disk drive, but in case they didn’t work for you, check here for alternatives (about halfway down the page). You can put these plug-ins in the \plugins directory.

Step 6 – adding zlib1.dll

In their haste to please us, the developers of ePSXe forgot to add zlib.dll to the latest release (v 1.70). You can get it here (just drop it in the same directory as ePSXe.exe).

Step 7 – configuring ePSXe

You’ve got all the files you need now and are just a few steps away from playing your games. Upon opening ePSXe.exe, or the shortcut you made to it on your desktop, you will encounter a configuration wizard.

First you select the correct BIOS for your region (PAL being Europe, Australia and a part of Asia). You’ll notice that there are different alternatives for your region, but all should work.

Next, select your video driver. When you press “˜Config’, you can change the video settings (like screen resolution, FPS limit, and so on. Apart from the resolution, only change these settings if you know what you’re doing.

Press next and select your sound plug-in and CD-ROM plug-in.

Last but not (at all!) least, you can configure your controller settings. First press on the controller you want to configure. In my opinion, the two best options here are either using a gamepad (USB, or an original one with a converter), or your keyboard (“˜Digital’ in the menu).

Step 8 – Boot and play

Finally, in the “˜file’ menu, either choose “˜run CDROM’ of Ra.One or “˜run ISO’ of Ra one to start playing!
You can make ISO’s of your PSX games without special procedures. Just use Nero, or another CD burning suite.

How are keygens made.(educational purpose only)

Well most of you have probably used a key generator or keygen as it is commonly called in internet slang. A keygen is a small program that will generate a key or serial/registration number for a piece of software. It is typically used as an adjunct to software piracy.

Here is a comprehensive guide, strictly for educational purposes, that shows you how a keygen is created to feed the hungry piracy lions Laughing

Tools!
For tools you need a minimum of debugger like SoftIce for Windows (hence WinIce), and a C compiler with Dos libraries.

Content!
In this tutorial I will show how to make a key-gen for Ize and Swiftsearch. The protection that these programs use is the well known Enter-Name-and-Registration-Number method. After selecting ‘register’, a window pops up where you can enter your name and your registration number. The strategy here is to find out where in memory the data you enter is stored and then to find out what is done with it. Before you go on make sure you configure the SoftIce dat file according to the PWD tutorial #1.

Part 1: Scanline Swiftsearch 2.0!

Swiftsearch is a useful little program that you can use to search on the web. I will explain step by step how to crack it.

step 1. Start the program

step 2: Choose register from the menus. You will now get a window where you can enter your name and your registration number.

step 3: Enter SoftIce (ctrl-d)

step 4: We will now set a breakpoint on functions like GetWindowText(a) and GetDlgItemText(a) to find out where in memory the data that we just entered is stored. The function that is used by this program is GetDlgItemTexta (trial and error, just try yourself so, in SoftIce type BPX GetDlgItemTexta and exit SoftIce with the g command.

step 5: Now type a name and a registration number (I used razzia and 12345) and press OK, this will put you back in SoftIce. Since you are now inside the GetDlgItemTexta function press F11 to get out of it. You should see the following code:

lea eax, [ebp-2C] :< --- we are looking for this location
push eax
push 00000404
push [ebp+08]
call [USER32!GetDlgItemTextA]
mov edi, eax :< --- eax has the length of the string
and is stored in edi for later usage.

We see that EAX is loaded with a memory address and then pushed to the stack as a parameter for the function GetDlgItemTextA. Since the function GetDlgItemTextA is already been run we can look at EBP-2c (with ED EDP-2c) and see that the name we entered is there. Now we know where the name is stored in memory, normally it would be wise to write that address down, but we will see that in this case it wont be necessary.

So, what next? Now we have to allow the program to read the registration number we entered. Just type g and return and when back in SoftIce press F11. You should see the following code:

push 0000000B
lea ecx, [ebp-18] : < --So, ebp-18 is where the reg. number
push ecx : is stored.
push 0000042A
push [ebp+08]
call [USER32!GetDlgItemTextA]
mov ebx, eax : < --save the lenght of string in EBX
test edi, edi : < --remember EDI had the lenght of the
jne 00402FBF : name we entered?

We see that the registration number is stored at location EBP-18 , check it with ED EBP-18. Again, normally it would be wise to note that address down. Also we see that it is checked if the length of the name we gave was not zero. If it is not zero the program will continue.

Step 6: Ok, now we know where the data we entered is stored in memory. What next?
Now we have to find out what is DONE with it. Usually it would we wise to put breakpoints on those memory locations and find out where in the program they are read. But in this case the answer is just a few F10’s away. Press F10 until you see the following code :

cmp ebx, 0000000A :< --remember EPX had the length of the
je 00402FDE : registration code we entered?

These two lines are important. They check if the length of the registration code we entered is equal to 10. If not the registration number will be considered wrong already. The program wont even bother to check it. Modify EBX or the FLAG register in the register window to allow the jump. Continue Pressing F10 until you get to the following code (note that the a******* you will see could be different) :

:00402FDE xor esi, esi :< -- Clear ESI
:00402FE0 xor eax, eax :< -- Clear EAX
:00402FE2 test edi, edi
:00402FE4 jle 00402FF2
:00402FE6 movsx byte ptr ecx, [ebp + eax - 2C] :< -- ECX is loaded with a letter of the name we entered.
:00402FEB add esi, ecx :< -- Add the letter to ESI
:00402FED inc eax :< -- Increment EAX to get next letter
:00402FEE cmp eax, edi :< -- Did we reach the end of the string?
:00402FF0 jl 00402FE6 :< -- If not, go get the next letter.

Well, we see that the program adds together all the letters of the name we entered. Knowing that ESI contains the sum of the letters, lets continue and find out what the program does with that value :

:00402FF2 push 0000000A
:00402FF4 lea eax, [ebp-18] :< -- Load EAX with the address of the reg. number we entered
:00402FF7 push 00000000
:00402FF9 push eax :< -- Push EAX (as a parameter for the following function)
:00402FFA call 00403870 :< -- Well, what do you think this function does?
:00402FFF add esp, 0000000C
:00403002 cmp eax, esi :< -- Hey!
:00403004 je 00403020

We see that a function is called and when RETurned ESI is compared with EAX. Hmm, lets look at what’s in EAX. A ‘? EAX’ reveals :

00003039 0000012345 “09?

Bingo. That’s what we entered as the registration number. It should have been what’s inside ESI. And we know what’s inside ESI, the sum of the letters of the name we entered!

Step 7: Now we know how the program computes the registration code we can make a key-gen.
But we should not forget that the program checks also that the registration number has 10
digits.
A simple C code that will compute the registration number for this program could look like this:

#include
#include
main()
{
char Name[100];
int NameLength,Offset;
long int Reg = 0, Dummy2 = 10;
int Dummy = 0;
int LengtDummy = 1;
int Lengt , Teller;
printf(”Scanline SwiftSearch 2.0 crack by raZZia.\n”);
printf(”Enter your name: “);
gets(Name);
NameLength=strlen(Name);

/* the for lus calculates the sum of the letters in Name */
/* and places that value in Reg */
for (Offset=0;Offset {
Reg=Reg+Name[Offset];
}
/* the while lus calculates the lenght of the figure in */
/* Reg and places it in Lengt */
while (Dummy != 1)
{
if ( Reg < Dummy2 )
{ Lengt = LengtDummy ; Dummy =1;
}
else
{ LengtDummy=LengtDummy + 1; Dummy2=Dummy2*10;
}
};
printf(”\nYour registration number is : ” );
/* First print 10-Lengt times a 0 */
Lengt=10-Lengt;
for (Teller=1;Teller< =Lengt;Teller=Teller+1) printf("0");
/* Then print the registration number */
printf(”%lu\n”,Reg);
}

Case 2 Ize 2.04 from Gadgetware

Ize from Gadgetware is a cute little program that will put a pair of eyes on your screen which will
follow your mousepointer. It has a register function where you can enter your name and a registration
number. The strategy in this case is still the same : Find out where in memory the entered information
is stored and then find out what is done with that information.

Step 1: Start Ize. Chose register and enter a name and a number. I used ‘razzia’ and ‘12345'.

Sterp 2: Enter (CTRL-D) Softice and set a breakpoint on GetDlgItemTextA.

Step 3: Leave SoftIce and press OK. This will put you back in Softice. You will be inside the GetDlgItemTextA
function. To get out of it press F11. You should see the following code :

mov esi, [esp + 0C]
push 00000064
push 0040C3A0 :< --On this memory location the NAME we entered will be stored.
mov edi, [USER32!GetDlgItemTextA] :< --Load edi with adress of GetDlgItemTextA
push 00004EE9
push esi
call edi :< -- Call GetDlgItemTextA
push 00000064 :< -- (you should be here now)
push 0040C210 :< --On this memory location the NUMBER we entered will be stored
push 00004EEA
push esi
call edi :< -- Call GetDlgItemTextA

We see that the function GetDlgItemTextA is called twice in this code fragment. The first call has
already happened. With ED 40C3A0 we can check that the name we entered is stored on that location.
To allow the program to read in the number we entered we type G and enter. Now we are inside the Get-
DlgItemTextA function again and we press f11 to get out of it. We check memory location 40C210 and
we see the number we entered is stored there.
Now we know the locations were the name and the number are stored,we note those down!

Step 4: Ok, what next? We now know where in memory the name and the number are stored. We need to find out
what the program does with those values. In order to do that we could set breakpoints on those memory
locations to see where they are read. But in this case it wont be necessary. The answer is right after the
above code :

push 0040C210 :< --save the location of the number we entered (as a parameter for the next call)
call 00404490 :< -- call this unknown function
add esp, 00000004
mov edi, eax :< -- save EAX (hmmmm)

We see a function being called with the number-location as a parameter. We could trace into the function and see what it does, but that is not needed. With your experience of the Swiftsearch
example you should be able to guess what this function does. It calculates the numerical value of the registration number and puts it in EAX. To be sure we step further using F10 untill we are past the call and check the contents of EAX (with ? EAX). In my case it showed : 00003039 0000012345 “09?.

Knowing that EDI contains our registration number we proceed:

push 0040C3A0 :< -- save the location of the name we entered (as a parameter for the next call)
push 00409080 :< -- save an unknown memory-location (as a parameter for the next call)
call 004043B0 :< --call to an unknown function
add esp, 00000008
cmp edi, eax :< --compare EDI (reg # we entered) with EAX (unknown, since the previous call changed it)
jne 004018A1 :< --jump if not equal

We see that a function is called with two parameters. One of the parameters is the location of the name
we entered. The other we dont know, but we can find out with ED 409080. We see the text ‘Ize’.
This function calculates the right registration number using those two parameters. If you just want to
crack this program, you can place a breakpoint right after the call and check the contents of EAX. It will
contain the right registration number. But since we want to know HOW the reg. # is calculated we will trace inside the function (using T). We will then try to find out HOW the contents of EAX got in there.

Step 5: Once inside the interesting function you will see that we are dealing with a rather long function. It wont be necessary for me to include the complete listing of this function, because we wont need all of it to make our key-gen.
But in order find out which part of the code is essential for the computation of the right registration number, you have to trace STEP by STEP and figure out what EXACTLY is going on!

Afther doing this i found out that the first part of the function computes some kind of “key”. Then this
“key” is stored in memory and in that way passed on to the second part of the function.
The second part of the function then computes the right registration number, based on this “key” AND
the name we entered.

The code that is essential and that we need for our key-gen is the following:

( Note that before the following code starts, the registers that are used will have the following values:
EBX will point to the first letter of the name we entered,
EDX will be zero,
EBP will be zero,
The “key” that we talked about earlier is stored in memory location 0040B828 and will
have 0xA4CC as its initial value. )

:00404425 movsx byte ptr edi, [ebx + edx] :< -- Put first letter of the name in EDI
:00404429 lea esi, [edx+01] :< -- ESI gets the "letter-number"
:0040442C call 00404470 :< -- Call function
:00404431 imul edi, eax :< -- EDI=EDI*EAX (eax is the return value of the the previous call)
:00404434 call 00404470 :< -- Call function
:00404439 mov edx, esi
:0040443B mov ecx, FFFFFFFF
:00404440 imul edi, eax :< -- EDI=EDI*EAX (eax is the return value of the previous call)
:00404443 imul edi, esi :< -- EDI=EDI*ESI ( esi is the number of the letter position)
:00404446 add ebp, edi :< -- EBP=EBP+EDI (beware that EBP will finally contain the right reg#)
:00404448 mov edi, ebx :< --these lines compute the lenght of the name we entered
:0040444A sub eax, eax :< --these lines compute the lenght of the name we entered
:0040444C repnz :< --these lines compute the lenght of the name we entered
:0040444D scasb :< --these lines compute the lenght of the name we entered
:0040444E not ecx :< --these lines compute the lenght of the name we entered
:00404450 dec ecx :< -- ECX now contains the lenght of the name
:00404451 cmp ecx, esi
:00404453 ja 00404425 :< -- If its not the end of the name , go do the same with the next letter
:00404455 mov eax, ebp :< -- SAVE EBP TO EAX !!!!
:00404457 pop ebp
:00404458 pop edi
:00404459 pop esi
:0040445A pop ebx
:0040445B ret
_____

:00404470 mov eax, [0040B828] :< -- Put "key" in EAX
:00404475 mul eax, eax, 015A4E35 :< -- EAX=EAX * 15A4E35
:0040447B inc eax :< -- EAX=EAX + 1
:0040447C mov [0040B828], eax :< -- Replace the "key" with the new value of EAX
:00404481 and eax, 7FFF0000 :< -- EAX=EAX && 7FFF0000
:00404486 shr eax, 10 :< -- EAX=EAX >>10
:00404489 ret

The above code consists of a loop that goes trough all the letters of the name we entered. With each
letter some value is calculated, all these values are added up together (in EBP). Then this value is stored
in EAX and the function RETurns. And that was what we were looking for, we wanted to know how EAX got its value!

Step 6: Now to make a key-gen we have to translate the above method of calculating the right reg# into a
c program. It could be done in the following way :
(Note : I am a bad c programmer

#include
#include
main()
{
char Name[100];
int NameLength,Offset;
unsigned long Letter,DummyA;
unsigned long Key = 0xa4cc;
unsigned long Number = 0;
printf(”Ize 2.04 crack by razzia\n”);
printf(”Enter your name: “);
gets(Name);
NameLength=strlen(Name);
for (Offset=0;Offset {
Letter=Name[Offset];
DummyA=Key;
DummyA=DummyA*0ª15a4e35;
DummyA=DummyA+1;
Key=DummyA;
DummyA=DummyA & 0ª7fff0000;
DummyA=DummyA >> 0ª10;
Letter=Letter*DummyA;
DummyA=Key;
DummyA=DummyA*0ª15a4e35;
DummyA=DummyA+1;
Key=DummyA;
DummyA=DummyA & 0ª7fff0000;
DummyA=DummyA >> 0ª10;
Letter=Letter*DummyA;
Letter=Letter*(Offset+1);
Number=Number+Letter;
}
printf(”\nYour registration number is : %lu\n”,Number);
}

If yes,there here is very interesting solution for you to hide folders in your phone without the need of any software.This trick can be used for phone from Nokia,Samsung,Motorola,LG or any other company.The only requirement is that your phone should support java which almost all mobile phones support now .

So,If your phone support java then here is the Trick Hide Folders in Nokia / Java phones without software
Create any new folder or you can use any existing folder that is to be hidden.
Rename the folder to any name but with the extension of .jad like if I want to hide my images folder then I will name it as images.jad
Now create a new folder with the same name in the same directory but with the extension of .jar So, I would create the folder with the name images.jar
And thats it!! My orignal images folder which has been renamed with .jad gets hidden and only folder with.jar extension is visible which is empty.So,my data is protected/hidden from unwanted eyes.

Apple iPhone 4S Review

Look and feel

Sleek and powerful inside and out, the metal and glass construct of the iPhone 4S is still the most distinctive build around, while its incredibly responsive touch-screen makes navigation blissfully smooth

Ease of use

You may not be able to customise the icon-based interface as much as on Android phones, but if less is more, iOS 5 is elegantly simple to use whether you're writing an email, loading a map or use voice commands to set an alarm

FeaturesMost of the hardware bumps are beneath its bonnet with a beefier dual-core 1GHz chip and faster graphics, but the eight-megapixel lens really impresses. iOS 5 is where the meat of the upgrade lies, with a full-bodied sync program in iCloud, which lets you backup data online and access anywhere with your Apple ID

Performance

Apps load and run with serious speed and slickness while the excellent touch-screen keyboard is still the best on any smartphone

Battery life

With internet and GPS, we easily lasted the day, which is an improvement on the iPhone 4 and better than many comparable smartphones.

Apple to launch iPad 3 in March

When it comes to the next iPad, we're hearing conflicting reports. On the one hand, there were reports of an iPad mini, said to be a budget version of the iPad, which would tackle the growing number of budget tablets. But there are also continuing reports of an iPad 3. Indeed, the latest report out of the Far East has the iPad 3 hitting the shelves in March.

That contradicts the rumour of an iPad mini early in the year, followed by an iPad 3 in the middle of 2012. But according to Japanese blog Macotakara, quoted by Crave, a 'reliable Asian source' claims the iPad 3 is being rushed into production, with a design change likely to cause more than a little controversy.

That change is a smaller dock connector, which would make many existing speakers, docks, some cases, cables and other accessories useless. That's unlikely to go down well, unless there is very good reason for it. It will have the same number of pins, but a smaller shape, which is where the issue is.

Sadly, that's the only detail confirmed about the new device. Previous rumours have talked about a high resolution Retina display and an improved camera for example. But Apple seems to have this one sealed up, at least for now.

But the source does confirm, that Apple is pushing on with production of a new iPad right now. Why so early? It seems that Apple is keen to avoid the Chinese New Year celebrations, which runs from 22-28 January and is stockpiling the new hardware ahead of that date.

Mobile Choice Awards 2011 - Most Innovative Device

And the winner is... LG Optimus 3D

Consumer tech is a blazingly fast world and mobile is leading the charge with increasingly powerful devices adding sci-fi worthy capabilities to things you used to make phone calls with. We award the year's top contenders for bringing mobile tech forward in leaps and bounds.

Winner - LG Optimus 3D

The glory of the third dimension can now be reproduced on this first-ever 3D phone, which doesn't just shoot in 3D - its special screen tech displays content with reality-like depth, so you won't need to wear those red-and-blue glasses to watch it. Shift 3D content from your computer by simple drag-and-drop thanks to its easy as pie Android Froyo 2.2 OS - or run the preloaded app that automatically converts regular 2D content to depth-packing visuals. Gaming goes 3D too, with the Optimus 3D coming fully loaded with a few 3D titles from Gameloft including racing and golf simulators. Sure, 3D has its own glitches - eye strain headaches being one of them - but for being the first to get there, and get mobile's first foot on the future-tech road, the Optimus 3D gets the vote.

Runner up: Motorola Atrix
Smartphones are now more powerful than computers of last decade - and Motorola takes the thinking one step further with the Atrix, which is built to power a plastic laptop shell with display and keyboard. Its dual-core 1GHz processor is one of beefiest on the block, but its Android Gingerbread OS goes from swish and fluid on the phone to a tad laggy when blown up on the 11.3-inch 'lapdock'. A great innovation that falls short on execution - but that's often an unfortunate side effect of being first.

BlackBerry PlayBook

A BlackBerry tablet was always going to be great at business - but we were pleasantly surprised by the PlayBook's refreshing, unique OS, with a cool multitasking view that put all open programs in the center of this compact seven-inch tablet. BlackBerry Bridge meant you could view email, contacts and calendar from your 'Berry smartphone on the tablet without comprising security of this data - something that's a godsend to anyone whose work phone is set up by a strict IT department.

Unfortunately, the fact this only works with BlackBerrys - and that there's no native email app otherwise - made this too much of a niche device. But an update to put contact, calendar and email apps on the device is incoming any day now, making this a decent choice for Berry users and non users alike.

HTC Flyer
Of all the tablets in town, the Flyer is the only that squeezes in a digital notebook feature, complete with stylus that lets you annotate ebooks and scrawl hilarious doodlings on photos. Its seven-inch touch-screen is sensitive enough to make note-taking by hand a reality and the palette of different colours and pens is cute addition. Surprisingly it omits any handwriting recognition function though. A fun idea that doesn't integrate enough with the rest of the phone's interface to take the gong.

'RA.One' proves Indian films can match Western technology: Karan Johar

Whatever be the final commercial and critical verdict on Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming science fiction Ra.One, it will go down in Indian film history as the movie which has used computer generated visual effects footage the most in Indian cinema so far, putting even last year's Rajinikanth blockbuster Enthiran or Robot in the shade.

Hardly any of those who have seen the trailer are discussing Khan's looks or his performance in Ra.One, short for Random Access - Version 1.0, or the plot. Everyone is gushing about the film's visual effects, or VFX. Even Hollywood is impressed. "New minute of Captain America visuals pales in comparison to the 10-second Ra. One teaser," says Movieline, an international website that reviews film trailers. So too director Shekhar Kapur, whose Mr India made in 1987 was one of the first Indian films to use VFX, tweeted: "Shah Rukh's Ra.One has raised the bar on VFX technique in Indian cinema... Hope other filmmakers catch up!"

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who saw the preview of " RA.One", is going ga ga over the movie and says it has the best computer graphics India has ever seen and proves India can match the technology used in Western movies.

"I just saw 'RA.One'! Adrenalin pumping and the best computer graphics India has ever seen! Its a mega blockbuster super hero ride! Outstanding," the 39-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The superhero film RA.One is reported to have around 3,500 VFX (visual effects) shots. This is said to have even outstripped Hollywood blockbuster James Cameron's Avatar that had around 2,700 VFX shots.

Rumour: Nokia N9 will not be coming to India

Though the news is still unconfirmed, there is a possibility that the MeeGo-based Nokia N9 will not be arriving in India at all. Many consider the fate of the N9 already sealed, and the general consensus is that it will be the first and last MeeGo device from Espoo's stables.

Unfortunate yes, but we hope for the sake of the developers, as well as for consumer choice, the platform will find adoption amongst other manufacturers. Things look a bit bleak however.

Nokia N9 review

It's taken a long time for Nokia's MeeGo-packing N9 to make its way into our top secret labs (the N9 moniker was first applied to early E7 prototypes), but it's here in our dirty little hands, at last, and it's glorious -- well, as glorious as a stillborn product can be, anyway. The N9 is the latest and greatest in a long line of quirky, interesting, yet ultimately flawed touchscreen experiments from Nokia that includes the Hildon-sporting 7710, a series of Maemo-based "internet tablets" (770, N800, N810, N900) and most recently, the N950 MeeGo handset for developers. What makes the N9 special is that it represents Nokia's last flagship phone as an independent player. MeeGo is already dead, and future high-end devices from the manufacturer will run Windows Phone and use Microsoft's services.

Hardware

Love at first sight -- this is possibly the most beautiful phone ever made. The N9 is in a class of its own in terms of design. You've never seen anything like it, and if you think it's attractive in pictures, wait until you see it in person -- it's completely and utterly irresistible. It manages to be elegant by virtue of its minimalism yet remains unmistakably Nokia. The impeccable proportions belie the handset's 12.1mm (0.48-inch) thickness thanks to tapered ends reminiscent of its more ornate predecessor, the N8.The finish looks matte and feels similar to anodized aluminum, but is significantly more durable. The back is slightly convex and features an oval chrome-finished (and scratch-prone) pod that's flush with the body and houses the slightly recessed eight megapixel autofocus camera. A dual-LED flash is offset to the left of the lens. The front is almost all screen with no buttons, and just a tiny slit for the earpiece on top. The 3.9-inch FWVGA (854x480) ClearBlack AMOLED display is phenomenal, rivaling Samsung's Super AMOLED -- text and graphics just appear to float on the panel, further refining the experience.

Camera

Eight megapixel sensor, Carl Zeiss F2.2 wide-angle autofocus lens, dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording on a flagship Nokia phone? You know where this is going. While it's no match for the legendary N8, the N9 takes wonderful pictures. Color balance and exposure are spot-on, and shots always contain a huge amount of detail, thanks in great part to the superior optics. The sensor appears to be quite small, however, which somewhat affects dynamic range and low-light performance. Like the N8, the N9 tends to preserve detail at the expense of some noise, leaving a bit of headroom for post-processing. The flash doubles as an autofocus assist light, but we sometimes experienced problems focusing in low light, especially with distant subjects. It provides continuous autofocus, touch-to-focus and automatic face detection, but lacks features that are quickly becoming standard on other handsets, such as panorama, burst and HDR modes.

Software

MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan is such a breath of fresh air it will leave you gasping -- that is, until you remember that you're dealing with a dead man walking. It's impossible to dismiss what's been achieved here -- a thoroughly modern, elegant, linux-based OS with inspired design that's simple and intuitive to use, all developed in house by Nokia. Sure, it's at least a year too late, and it lacks a strong ecosystem, but still, it gives Windows Phone a serious run for its money. For one, it ships out of the gate with copy / paste and card-based multitasking. Additionally, it integrates a plethora of on-line services right in the core of the OS.

Dell XPS 14z review

As far as product launches go, Dell didn't exactly rip the Band-Aid off the XPS 14z. After teasing it back in September, the company let all the specs out of the bag, but stopped short of naming a price and ship date for the United States. Well, now we know: this 14-incher will be available in the US and Canada November 1, and will start at $1,000 -- a price that puts it in direct competition with the likes of the HP Envy 14 and Sony VAIO SA series.

Like these other laptops, the 14z commands a premium over cheaper models, with beefier specs and a (supposedly) more luxurious design. With Core i5 and i7 processor options, discrete graphics, USB 3.0 and an optional solid-state drive, it offers a lot of the same specs as its peers, though it manages to stand out in a couple key ways. One, it sports an LG Shuriken display, which crams a 14-inch screen into a chassis normally reserved for 13-inch systems (translation: its bezels are super narrow).

GoPro launches HD Hero2 helmet cam, announces video streaming Wi-Fi pack for winter

Want to catch every frame of your next extreme sports wipeout in all of its grotesque glory? GoPro knows where you're coming from, and has updated its line of high definition helmet cams to help you capture every bone-breaking moment. The HD Hero2 competitively boasts that it's twice as powerful its 2009 predecessor, the original HD Hero. The new helmet cam promises to capture 1080p 16:9 footage from atop your sweaty noggin at both narrow (90-degree), wide (170-degree) and medium (127-degree) angles, and can snap up to ten 11 megapixel photos per second. The camera's mini-HDMI port, composite out, USB, SD card and HERO ports will help you share the spoils of your spills when your adventure ends -- at least until this winter, when GoPro's WiFi BacPac promises to enable live broadcasting and camera control over WiFi. Best of all? The Hero2 kills the original HD Hero's confusing 3-digit code interface in favor of a simple language-based menu.

The HD Hero2 comes in three $300 configurations: outdoor, motorsports, and surf editions, all of which are compatible with existing accessories. Too rich for your blood? Then you'll be happy to know that the previous models are getting price drops -- $200 for the original HD Hero and a paltry $150 for its "960" variant. Hit the break for the official PR and a full list of features.

LG Smart TV goes on the charm offensive, appeals to Adobe developers

LG wants to bring the world of Adobe Flash to your living room. Yes, 2012's lineup of Smart TVs, theater systems and Blu-ray players are all set to arrive with support for both Flash Player and AIR 3, and the Korean manufacturer is keen to get developers signed up for its next-generation Smart TV SDK. The new software development kit will include a simplified dashboard, the ability to render 2D apps in 3D and even "console-quality gaming." Throw in Adobe's new Game Input API, and we could see tablets, joysticks and even LG-made smartphones used to control on-screen action. LG has informed us that these upgrades will be limited to next year's catalogue -- your 2011 purchases won't support the new software, and will have to make do with the slightly weedier Adobe Flash Lite. New Smart TVs will also be compatible with the Wiimote-esque Magic Motion Remote, bringing gesture-based awkwardness to menu selection.
